The Joy of Finding Spectacular Southern California Style Burgers in Guadalajara ~ Eureka Burgers
After nearly two months in Guadalajara and almost 7 months in Mexico, we gringos were getting a little homesick for the foods of the old country (The United States). Enter Eureka Burgers.
On one of our walks through the Colonia Americana neighborhood, we followed our noses to this great little burger joint with a large, dog friendly patio. There was plenty of room to position Nash the Wonder Dog in his chariot for prime begging height and maximal salivation.
The burgers Arrived and We Were Delighted
I personally love a limited menu where the restaurant cooks fewer things really well. Here there were just 2 burgers and 2 fries on offer, so an easy choice there. Drinks were also few in number – a couple of canned sodas, chocolate or vanilla shakes and one beer option (Miller 40s, what??)
The burgers arrived and we were delighted to find them reminiscent of In-n-Out, the style so cherished from Steven’s youth growing up in southern California.
For those not in the know, this means thin patties, melty American cheese, soft buns and plenty of fresh, crunchy lettuce and onions.
Also loved the thin, skinny fries and the chocolate shake was divine. Service was quick and efficient. Our stomachs and hearts full, we resumed our walk on the sunny streets of Guadalajara.
